General Plot Outline

This is an epic story of action and suspense. When their husbands were killed by the Song army, two pregnant women escaped, Li Ping gave birth to Guo Jing, a sturdy but blockheaded young man while Bao Xiruo gave birth to Yang Kang, smart and crafty. Guo Jing was told to find his sworn brother (Yang Kang) and take revenge for his father. He meets Huang Rong along the way, who is smart, witty and an exellent fighter. She assist him in many ways. She becomes a key character in helping Guo Jing become more powerful by finding him a martial arts teacher. When a pact between their martial arts masters brought them together and the truth behind their fathers' deaths was revealed, Guo Jing found martial arts enlightenment and a cause greater than his own while Yang Kang descended into darkness and destroyed everything and everyone around him.

This series is about good and evil, revenge, training, becoming stronger, who should have such an immense amount of power and the correct way of using such power.

This version - we have renamed the first episode as episode 0, a solid backstory, this is usually not the interesting part and it does get explained later, so we recommend skipping. A brief description is: - Guo Jing's father and Yang Kang's father are close as brothers, also are the great heroes of Song, therefore thorns in the Jin side. Their wives are pregnant and the families decide that if the two are boys, they shall be sworn brothers and are to be named Yang Kang and Guo Jing. But Jin forces attack the Guo and Yang families before the kids are born.

Guo Jing's father is killed and Yang Kang's father runs off to see if Guo Jing's mtoher is alright. He can't find her (though she managed to escape) and meanwhile, his own wife is taken by the Jin Prince leading the attack - one of Jin Prince's reasons for attack was his love for Yang Kang's mother. Guo Jing's mother ends up in Mongolia and gives birth to Guo Jing who grows on the steppes being close with the kids of the ruler. He is very sweet but rather simple. When he comes of age, he sets out back to China, sworn to avenge his father and find his sworn brother Yang Kang.

Meanwhile, Yang Kang's mother married the Jin Prince and Yang Kang has been brought up to believe Jin Prince is his real father and that he is a Jin himself.
