Please keep this forum positive - and focus on what you love!

What does it mean to keep this forum positive?

If you're not going to say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Firstly, we focus on PROMOTING ANCIENT CHINESE SERIES to people who don't know about it, this is not really a forum intended for Chinese users to discuss, debate shows they've seen, this is really to help more people, especially non-english speakers get to know there's a whole genre of shows out there, made by China, and how great they are.

We want to point out what we love, the best things about the series, and not things we hate, so please - if there's a show you really hated, don't talk about it here. There are other forums such as spcnet and asianfanatics forum for you to discuss on how much you hate a series, but not here.

This also means that when it comes to shows, movies, music, actors, actresses and so on, we focus on the positives and post only to talk about what we love, rather than complain about a show and put it down.

Why? You might ask. Shouldn't people be allowed to express their opinions?

Think about it this way. If someone insulted you, and said they had the right to say what they wanted, does that make it alright? Do you like it when someone talks bad about what you like? If you don't mind, remember some people do. Not everyone likes that, and people over the years, have always commented on how good, how safe and comfortable they feel in an environment where people are positive.

Honestly, it's not hard to ignore a thread if you didn't like the show, the actor/actress or whatever. If you have some constructive criticism, that is absolutely not a problem, as long as you explain what needs to be improved, not simply say "that sucked" or "he's a horrible actor cos he's ugly".

This also means, please keep comparing shows to a minimum.

Another point I want to make is, this is a fan forum, which means we come together because we are fans. Sure there are many different types of shows, and we may not like all of them, but this is still a fan forum. I did not make this web to see people hate on certain shows. I love all different type of shows and don't like to see anything put down.

However, keep in mind talking about a fault in the show with a reason is not the same as simply saying a show is crap. If you thought something could improve, that's absolutely fine to talk about - as long as you give reasons on what could be better.

Keeping a positive attitude on the forum doesn't mean you can't rant about life, or something that's pissing you off, so please feel free to do that.

If any user is absolutely against this rule and believe they have the right to say whatever they please, then this forum is not for you. I ask that you find another place, because this rule is not going  to change.
